Live In Dog Years: Reflect Often

Reflect Often Live In Dog Years™ theme - Boxer running on the beach

My daughter and I recently brought Louis (pictured here) to the beach for the first time. I’m not sure who was more excited about this experience: us or him.  Regardless, none were disappointed as Louis bounded through the ocean surf and sped along the hard sand to the point where he physically couldn’t run any longer.  We were encompassed by his joy and felt his experience as if it was our first visit to the ocean as well.  As you can see from his gait, he was filled with pure, unfiltered happiness.

Beyond the color, energy, and subject matter, what I love most about this picture is Louis’ reflection in the sand. It is a perfect image of the beautiful being & soul that he is…..carried along with him as he played. The image reminds me of a proverb that I   have carried with me throughout my life:

“As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.”

A magical moment was captured in this photo, and it serves as a reminder of the value of reflection. Not the taking a moment to look back and consider, but the energy you put out into the world and what it attracts. It is our family, friends, and life paths that are reflections of what is in our hearts. To change our life, we have to look into ourselves first.
